Hasselbeck, Clowney among those injured Sunday

Published Dec. 27, 2015 10:09 p.m. ET

The Indianapolis Colts are getting accustomed to losing their quarterbacks.

Already without Andrew Luck, who missed his sixth consecutive game with a lacerated kidney and a partially torn abdominal muscle, they saw Matt Hasselbeck leave in the second quarter at Miami with a right shoulder injury. Charlie Whitehurst stepped in and led the Colts to an 18-12 victory Sunday.

Hasselbeck said he was ''not super optimistic'' he would be available to play next Sunday against Tennessee.

''We'll do an MRI Monday, but I think it's just an AC sprain, which is great news,'' said Hasselbeck, who has played in - and been sidelined during - four consecutive games. ''I had this injury to my left arm a long, long time ago, so I kind of know it's not that serious. It's just a matter of how quick.''

Dolphins LB Jelani Jenkins aggravated an ankle injury and left the game in the third quarter. Colts guard Hugh Thornton left in the first half with an ankle injury.

Houston linebacker Jadeveon Clowney left early in the fourth quarter at Tennessee with an injured left foot. Coach Bill O'Brien said he thought Clowney, the top overall pick in the 2014 draft, was fine.

Titans wide receiver Kendall Wright said he wasn't sure if he twisted his knee or if it was hit, but it was the same left knee that cost him three games in November.

Injury-ravaged New England saw tackle Sebastian Vollmer (left leg) carted off in the first quarter. OT LaAdrian Waddle (shoulder) and DB Justin Coleman (head) also were sidelined.

In handing Carolina its first loss of the season, the Falcons had DT Paul Soliai (calf) and WR Eric Weems (concussion) leave. Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker was carted to the locker room with a right ankle injury and did not return.

Buffalo DT Marcell Dareus left in a win over Dallas and said he didn't have a lot of feeling in his hand. The diagnosis was a neck injury. Guard John Miller (ankle) and WR Marcus Easley (knee) also were sidelined, with Easley being carted off.

Dallas safety Barry Church broke his right arm.

The Rams lost three players to concussions in a victory at Seattle: DT Nick Fairley, S Mark Barron and DE Ethan Westbrooks. Seattle lost TE Luke Willson to a concussion, as well.

Green Bay DT B.J. Raji went out of the loss at Arizona in the first half because of a concussion. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga left with an ankle injury.

Bears DL Eddie Goldman left with a right ankle injury in the third quarter of a win over Tampa Bay. RB Matt Forte (back) sat out the latter part of game.

San Francisco DT Quinton Dial left the loss at Detroit with a back strain.

Pittsburgh cornerback Antwon Blake (back spasms) left in the second quarter of a loss against Baltimore, and fullback Roosevelt Nix (right foot) departed in the fourth quarter.

Jacksonville RT Jeremy Parnell strained his hamstring during a defeat at New Orleans, and DE Jared Odrick bruised his knee. For New Orleans, TE Josh Hill went to the sideline after a hard hit near his head. It appeared he was being tested for a concussion.

The Saints did not announce an injury for him.
