Eagles sign McCoy, release Bell

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed defensive end/linebacker Chris McCoy to a three-year contract and released tackle Demetress Bell.

McCoy had five sacks in two seasons in the CFL with Calgary. McCoy was originally drafted by Miami in the seventh round in 2010. He spent his rookie season on the practice squads of the Dolphins, Seahawks and Texans. McCoy signed with Pittsburgh during the 2011 offseason, but was released before the season opener.

Bell was signed away from Buffalo last year to replace injured left tackle Jason Peters, but he lost his starting job in training camp.
