Brooks Reed suffers setback with groin injury

Published May. 25, 2015 5:25 p.m. ET

The Atlanta Falcons have hit a bit of a bump in the road on the defensive side of the ball during voluntary minicamp.

According to Vaughn McClure of ESPN, linebacker Brooks Reed went down with a groin injury that may keep him out for the start of organized team activities.

"Atlanta Falcons outside linebacker Brooks Reed suffered a "minor" groin injury, according to multiple sources, but the injury could keep Reed sidelined for the start of organized team activities next week." McClure explained.

He continued by pointing out that "Reed apparently injured his groin during the team's recent voluntary minicamp. The Falcons are set to begin their first OTA practice Tuesday."

The good news here is that the groin injury is considered "minor" according to McClure and there's still the chance he could be on the field for a good portion of OTAs. Here's to hoping for a speedy recovery for the new Falcon.
