Falcons, CB Trufant agree on deal
The Falcons and Desmond Trufant have agreed to multi-year deal and the rookie cornerback will report to training camp on time.
Atlanta announced the deal Wednesday but did not release terms of the contract. However, a person familiar with the situation says it's a four-year, $8.16 million contract - of which $4.3 million is guaranteed. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the terms had not been announced.
Players are required to report to dorms by 5 p.m. Wednesday at the team's training facility in Flowery Branch, Ga.
Atlanta traded up eight spots in a deal with St. Louis to draft Trufant out of Washington. He is the leading candidate to start at right cornerback, but will have to beat out second-round pick Robert Alford.
