Felipe Massa gets applauded on pit road after crashing out of last home race

Williams driver Felipe Massa crashed out of the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday, which was not the way he wanted to finish his final home race.

However, as the 35-year-old walked down pit road, carrying a Brazilian flag, all of the teams emerged from their garages to give Massa a hand as he walked back to the Williams stall.

Upon his arrival, all of his team’s personnel and family were on hand to shake his hand and give him a hug in one of the most emotional moments in recent F1 history.

The event was made possible due to the fact that pit road had been closed due to Massa’s crash. Massa will make his 250th and last F1 start in two weeks’ time at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
