England wins toss, bats in 4-day tour match

TOWNSVILLE, Australia (AP) England won the toss and will bat first in its four-day tour match against a Cricket Australia XI, its final warmup for the first Ashes test against Australia.

Allrounder Moeen Ali will play for the first time on tour after recovering from a side strain while seamer Craig Overton has a chance to press claims for a test debut in the absence of Jake Ball, who has an ankle injury.
