Yeboah scores 25, Latimer hits big 3 in Stony Brook's win

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Akwasi Yeboah scored 25 points and Miles Latimer added 14, including a go-ahead 3-pointer, and Stony Brook defeated Delaware 74-68 on Sunday.

A 3-pointer by Delaware's Matt Veretto gave the Blue Hens (8-4) a one-point lead before Latimer responded with his fourth 3-pointer of the game to go up 70-68 with a minute left. Jeff Otchere blocked a layup on the other end and Andrew Garcia scored underneath off a nice pass from Jaron Cornish for a four-point lead with 24 seconds left. Delaware then missed a pair of 3-point shots.

Yeboah, who made five 3-pointers, reached 20 points for the fourth straight game. Jaron Cornish and Elijah Olaniyi added 12 points apiece while Otchere had 10 rebounds and four blocks for the Seawolves (10-2).

Eric Carter had 17 points and 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double this season and Ithiel Horton also scored 17 for the Blue Hens. Ryan Allen, the Colonial Athletic Association rookie of the year last season, made his season debut after October foot surgery and scored 15 points, all on 3-pointers.
