Williams' 30 helps Fresno St. down D-II Monterey Bay 93-56 (Dec 18, 2017)

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) Bryson Williams scored a career-high 30 points on 14-of-17 shooting and Nate Grimes pulled a career-high 17 rebounds to help Fresno State beat Division II Cal State Monterey Bay 93-56 on Monday night.

Fresno State (10-3) was 39 of 67 (58 percent) from the field and outrebounded the Otters 49-21. Deshon Taylor scored 18 points with nine assists, five steals and five rebounds, Ray Bowles Jr. scored 16, Jahmel Taylor 13 and Grimes 10.

The Bulldogs built an 18-4 lead and never trailed. Josh Kollman made a 3 for the Otters, who outscored Fresno State 16-8 during a 7-minute stretch, and closed to 26-20. But Fresno State ended the half with a 19-8 run for 45-28 lead at the break and Monterey Bay got no closer.

Mateo Jones led the Otters with 21 points and Brian Garrett scored 14. Cal State Monterey Bay finished with nine 3s on 29 attempts.
