Clemons scores 44, Campbell beats UNCW 97-93 in OT

BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Chris Clemons scored all of Campbell's 15 points in overtime and finished with 44 to help the Camels beat UNC Wilmington 97-93 on Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams.

Andrew Eudy added 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Isaac Chatman scored 12 for Campbell.

Clemons made 12 of 24 from the field, including six 3-pointers, and 14 of 16 from the free-throw line. Eudy hit five 3s, grabbed nine rebounds and had five assists.

Clemons hit a 3-pointer, converted a 3-point play and, after a steal by Ja'cor Nelson, made two free throws to give the Camels a 95-90 lead with 24 seconds left. UNCW's Ty Taylor answered with a 3-pointer, but two more foul shots by Clemons with three seconds remaining sealed it.

Taylor hit six 3-pointers and finished with 29 points, both career highs, for the Seahawks. Devontae Cacok added 19 points and 13 rebounds, his 35th career double-double.

The game featured nine ties and 20 lead changes.
