BYU beats Utah Valley 85-58 on Childs' career night (Nov 29, 2017)

OREM, Utah (AP) Yoeli Childs scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his third straight double-double, and BYU beat Utah Valley 85-58 in the Crosstown Clash on Wednesday night.

TJ Haws scored 11 points, Elijah Bryant had nine rebounds, and the Cougars (5-2) had a season-high 25 assists, led by McKay Cannon with six in his debut and Childs, Haws and Bryant with four apiece.

Childs scored 18 points in the first half and BYU shot 53.1 percent from the floor for a 42-26 halftime lead. Cannon and Haws hit consecutive 3s for a 23-point lead with 7:46 left in the second half.

BYU outrebounded the Wolverines 33-24 and scored 20 points off 17 turnovers.

Brandon Randolph scored 16 points, Jake Toolson had 14 and Akolda Manyang 11 for Utah Valley (4-3), which had its four-game winning streak snapped.
