Giannis is among NBA's Mr. Do-Everythings
In case you forgot after he sat out two games resting a sore knee, Giannis Antetokounmpo served a reminder last week upon his return to action that he can do everything on the court.
In his first game back, the Milwaukee Bucks All-Star put up 41 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks in a win over Brooklyn on Friday. Then at Chicago on Sunday, he had 27 points, nine rebounds, eight steals, a steal and a block.
Those games marked the 23rd and 24th times this season that Antetokounmpo has recorded at least one rebound, assist, steal and block in a game.
Only two other players in the NBA have accomplished that feat more than Antetokounmpo - Detroit's Andre Drummond (27) and New Orleans' DeMarcus Cousins (25). Golden State's Draymond Green and Washington's John Wall have each done it 23 times.
Antetokounmpo looks to make it four straight contests with such a game -- he also did it vs. Miami on Jan. 17. "The Greek Freak" missed Milwaukee's last game against Philadelphia, Monday's opponent, as that was one of the two games he recently sat out. But last season against the 76ers he had a rebound, assist, steal and block in three of the four matchups.
Monday's game against the 76ers is in Milwaukee, where Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.9 points per game and shooting 56.9 percent from the field. On the road, he's at 28.0 points and 52.8 percent. He and Philadelphia's Joel Embiid are just two of five players this season averaging 20+ points and shooting better than 50 percent from the field away from home. Embiid, who will be held out of Monday's game after playing Sunday night against the Thunder, is at 24.1 points and 50.7 percent shooting.
Other notes:
-- The Bucks are allowing just 8.1 fast-break points per game, which is the fewest in the NBA.
-- Khris Middleton leads the NBA in mid-range (i.e. a shot outside the paint) field-goal percentage at 50.7 percent. Philadelphia's J.J. Redick is second at 49.4 percent.
-- The Bucks are 28-10 (.737) when both Antetokounmpo and Middleton score 20+ points in a game over their careers together in Milwaukee.
