Stranger Things: Cris Carter on why this year has been so odd for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers

Video Details

In his discussion with Nick Wright and Jenna Wolfe, Cris Carter reveals why this year has been such a 'strange' year for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, noting the plethora of debilitating injuries, the loss of Kyrie Irving and the impact of The King missing training camp.

- With him looking forward to the season with this new collection of players, eight new players on the team. So when you have eight new players, you don't have that history, or you haven't had success together. So even when you struggle, your struggles are different because you haven't had success together.

And they can say whatever they want to, Cleveland, I know they have to move on, but they miss Kyrie. They miss another guy who can just flat, just take over a game, take over a quarter. And you can see that.

You can see it because IT is not healthy. So then it becomes very evident. LeBron, as far as him being tired, I don't think he's tired from a physical standpoint, but mentally, the burden, what he has to bear-- he is a human. And this has been a very odd year.

When you're looking forward to the season with eight new players, and you're trying to get another championship, and you start the season and miss all the training camp-- so you mentioned everything, but LeBron missed all of training camp before all these other things started happening with Derrick Rose, and DWade, and now Kevin Love not playing as good as he was with IT coming back. So they have to acquiesce to him some more.

LeBron can't afford to take no time off. Because he's trying to get used to his new teammates and after missing training camp. So it's been a very, very odd and strange year for the Cavs.
