Greek police have made four arrests after five officers were injured from projectiles thrown by fans of AEK Athens during a Greek league game.

Police say the attack at Athens' Olympic stadium in AEK's 1-0 win over Atromitos on Sunday was unprovoked. Violence and attacks against police are widespread in the Greek league.

Fans, already grumpy over the team's poor form this season, were incensed by AEK's 6-0 loss at Olympiakos two weeks ago and booed its players on Sunday.

With two rounds left, AEK is 24 points behind champion Olympiakos in third place.

AEK has also had trouble balancing its books. Last week, the club scrambled to find enough resources to receive a permit to play in the league next season.
