Sheffield Wednesday director Mark Johnson has stepped down from his position on the club's board.

Johnson, who worked with Owls chairman Milan Mandaric during their days at Leicester, joined the board at Hillsborough in September 2011.

"After over a year of 400-mile weekly round trips and living in hotels, I have decided to return back to the south coast and spend more time with my family," Johnson said. "I wish everyone at the club good luck for the future."

Mandaric added: "Mark's contribution to the club has proved invaluable since he joined just over a year ago.
