Denmark denies it will host England vs. Argentina
The Danish football association has denied reports that it will host a friendly between England and Argentina on Feb. 9.
Danish football association secretary-general Jim Stjerne Hansen says the date has been reserved by FIFA for Denmark to host a friendly against an yet to be determined opponent.
He said Friday their job is to market the Danish team, and ''we don't want to compete with other national sides'' playing on the same day.
According to reports, England and Argentina have sought a venue for a Feb. 9 friendly, with Denmark and Norway identified as potential locations.
Matches between England and Argentina are often tense affairs, with the rivalry between the teams stemming from disputes including the military conflict between the countries over the British Falkland Islands off the Argentina coast.
