The 26-year-old Scotland international is preparing to make his 100th league appearance for the Molineux club in Saturday's match at Tottenham.

But it has not all been plain sailing for Berra and he has had to deal with some doubters since his £2.3million arrival from Hearts in the January of 2009.

The 26-year-old, however, has been one of Wolves' best players this season and, with just 18 months left on his contract, his form has seen him linked with Newcastle, Bolton and Blackburn.

And Berra is pleased to now be earning some recognition, as he told the Express and Star: "I know I'm not everyone's favourite.

"Some think, 'Berra's rubbish', but then others say, 'I think you're a good player who's done well'.

"You take the good with the bad and move on. As a professional sportsman, there will always be people judging you.

"But if you remain thick-skinned and keep on concentrating, you will have more good times than bad ones. I've got pride in myself and I want to keep doing better."
