The Tigers on Thursday placed pitcher Drew Smyly on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 11 and recalled Ryan Raburn from Triple-A Toledo.

Smyly, who is 2-2 with a 3.96 ERA in 12 starts this season, left his June 11 start at Cincinnati because of a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand. He was due to start Saturday vs. the Colorado Rockies.

Raburn hit .194 in eight games for Triple-A Toledo after the Tigers demoted him last month. He's been bothered by a hamstring injury that caused him to miss some games during his stint with the Mud Hens.

Raburn, playing mostly at second base, hit just .146 with one home run and seven RBIs in 37 games before the Tigers sent him to Toledo.

Doug Fister will come off the DL and start for the Tigers in Smyly's spot Saturday.

He's been on the DL since May 29 because of a strained left side, an injury that initially surfaced in Fister's first start of the season and sidelined him earlier in the year, as well.

In his six starts this season, Fister is 0-3 with a 3.15 ERA.
