Jessica Penne meets Randa Markos at the The Ultimate Fighter Finale

BY Damon Martin • December 10, 2014

Following an incredible season of The Ultimate Fighter featuring 16 of the best women's fighters in the world at 115-pounds, the championship bout is set as well as another featured bout pitting Jessica Penne against Randa Markos on the live card airing from Las Vegas on Friday night.

Penne and Markos were both semifinalists on the show, but came up just short from their bids to make it to the title fight.

So as a consolation prize the two strawweight standouts will face each other with the winner sitting in a prime position to make a run at the belt in 2015.

Penne (11-2) will be competing at 115-pounds in the UFC after spending a big part of her career as an atomweight fighter where she was also the champion in Invicta FC.  Penne put on some of the strongest performances on the reality show finishing Lisa Ellis before beating Aisling Daly to make it to the semifinals.

Penne went to battle with her good friend and eventual finalist Carla Esparza, but lost by unanimous decision when it was all said and done.

Markos (4-1) was one of the biggest surprises of the entire season of The Ultimate Fighter after joining the show as a relative unknown out of Canada.  She made her presence felt immediately in the first fight of the season taking out No. 3 ranked Tecia Torres before making short work of veteran fighter Felice Herrig.

Markos' run ended with a loss by submission to Rose Namajunas, but she definitely didn't go down without a fight.

Now the upset specialist will look to pick up another big win to add to her resume as she faces Penne at The Ultimate Fighter Finale on Friday.
