
Huddle of US defends NYC Half title, edging Chepkirui

NEW YORK (AP) American Molly Huddle defended her NYC Half title Sunday, edging Kenya's Joyce Chepkirui in a photo finish.
Huddle and Chepkirui went 1-2 for the second straight year. Huddle won by just .08 seconds Sunday, with both women finishing the 13.1 miles through Manhattan in official times of 1 hour, 7 minutes, 41 seconds.
Diane Nukuri of Burundi was third.
Huddle is from Elmira, New York, about 3 1/2 hours northwest of Manhattan.
In the men's race, Kenya's Stephen Sambu won his first NYC Half title after finishing on the podium the last two years. Another Kenyan, Wilson Chebet, was second, and American Sam Chelanga was third.
Sambu won in 1:01:16.
