ACC football's key questions for 2012

There are plenty of questions in the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2012. Very few of them revolve around the quarterback position.

Eleven of the 12 starting quarterbacks return this season, with just Miami breaking in either Stephen Morris (who started four games in 2010) or Memphis transfer Ryan Williams.

And while most fans of ACC football focus on Clemson’s Tajh Boyd, Florida State’s EJ Manuel, Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas and North Carolina’s Bryn Renner, the ACC returns eight quarterbacks who threw for 2,600 yards or more last season.

Quarterback is not the question mark in the ACC this season. At FSU, it’s the offensive line. At Clemson, it’s the porous defense. At Virginia Tech, it’s the lack of an experienced rusher. The three front-runners in the ACC all have question marks, as they battle for the league title.
