Graham Zusi scored off a rebound in the second half to help Sporting Kansas City salvage a 1-1 tie against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night and extend its unbeaten streak to nine matches.

Kansas City (5-6-6) has not lost in its last four home games.

Conor Casey scored in the 32nd minute for Colorado (5-5-9), which is winless in its last three games and has only one victory in its last 10. Casey's goal, on an assist from Tyrone Marshall, was his fifth in seven matches against Kansas City.

In the 62nd minute, Rapids keeper Matt Pickens could not control C.J. Sapong's shot, and Zusi easily put the rebound into the open net for the equalizer.

Sporting's Omar Bravo had a chance to put in another loose ball in the 75th but his shot hit the post and the ball was cleared. Late in stoppage time, Pickens made a leaping save on Sapong's chip to preserve the draw.

Colorado captain Pablo Mastroeni will be suspended for Saturday's home match against Vancouver after drawing a yellow card in the first half.
