Most difficult player for Illini to replace: Jon Davis
For the first time in program history the Illinois Fighting Illini went back to back years without having a player selected in the NFL Draft.
That doesn't mean that they don't have any players from last season on NFL rosters for this season though. They had guys signed as undrafted free agents. The most difficult player for them to replace though will be tight end Jon Davis.
The 6-foot-3, 240 pounds Davis caught 71 career passes for 658 yards and seven touchdowns. Mikey Dudek got a lot of attention last season in the Illini passing game but an effective tight end can be a quarterback's best friend.
The Illini have a pair of versatile tights ends coming into program will need to step up quickly to replace the production.
