Hokies CB Facyson breaks leg in practice, undergoes surgery
BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Virginia Tech cornerback Brandon Facyson is recovering after breaking his leg in practice and undergoing surgery.
Hokies trainer Mike Goforth said Monday that the sophomore broke the tibia and fibula in his left leg on Sunday and had surgery the same day.
It's the second injury for Facyson, who missed most of this season while recovering from a stress reaction in the same leg in the spring. Facyson had a bone graft to expedite the healing process after spring practice, but reinjured the leg after three games this season. He has not played since.
Facyson is expected to miss spring practice but be ready to resume working with the team in the summer.
The native of Newnan, Georgia was a third-team All-ACC selection as a freshman.
