Ex-Husker Randy Gregory gets advice from Michael Irvin

In some ways, the Dallas Cowboys were the perfect landing spot for former Nebraska pass rusher Randy Gregory. The Cowboys have lots of players both past and present that have been through and overcome adversity before going on to have great careers.

One of the most notable players that fits that mold is Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin. 'The Playmaker' says he has reached out to Randy per the Star-Telegram:

“Guys seem more comfortable talking to a guy who had situations himself,” Irvin said. There is no indictment from me. I had my problems. Randy knows I’m saying it from the right place. The kid has been sincere. But imagine what it is going to be like when you are on top again. You can be an inspiration for millions of kids who made mistakes. They can say ‘Randy did it. I can too."

It has been widely reported that Gregory will have a similar system setup around him that Dez Bryant had when he first came to the Cowboys with bodyguards and someone to follow his every move. It worked well for Bryant who is one of the most dominant players in the game today, so the Dallas fans are hoping that lightning can strike twice.
