Can the Horned Frogs really be a better team in 2015?

As good as the TCU defense was last season, it still had that 61-point hiccup to Baylor that ultimately cost the Horned Frogs a spot in the College Football Playoff.

As electric as the TCU offense was last season, it still wheezed enough at chilly Kansas to nearly derail playoff hopes altogether.

To break into the playoffs in 2015, the Frogs are going to have to be even better than last year's 12-1 team that spanked Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl.

Can they do it?

The offense certainly seems primed to be perhaps the most explosive in school history with Heisman Trophy candidate Trevone Boykin back at the controls. He's surrounded by high-octane talent like running back Aaron Green and receivers Josh Doctson and Kolby Listenbee. And that's just for starters.

The defense is basically replacing its back seven, but there's plenty of talent in the pipeline and coach Gary Patterson has been a master of turning out dominant defenses. There's no reason to believe he won't again.

The schedule will be especially tricky with the best teams backloaded. TCU will face top contenders Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Baylor late in the year and all within a four-week span.

So are you buying this team as a title contender?
