Jamal Jackson threw four touchdown passes as Appalachian State rallied from a 21-0 deficit for a 28-24 win over Elon on Saturday.

The comeback ties the largest deficit overcome by the Mountaineers (8-3, 6-2 Southern Conference) since their move to Division I in 1972.

With his team trailing 24-14 at halftime, Jackson threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Brian Quick in the third quarter and found Steven Miller on a 5-yard score for the game-winner with 11:14 to play in the game. Jackson passed for 284 yards. Quick had 11 catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns.

Elon (5-6, 3-4) built a 21-7 lead after the first quarter but could not find the end zone the rest of the game. Thomas Wilson passed for 344 yards and two touchdowns while Aaron Mellette caught 14 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown for the Phoenix (5-6, 3-5).
