Creighton crushes Chicago State, improves to 2-0 on eve of showdown

Will Artino had 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals to lead Creighton to an 84-66 victory over Chicago State on Sunday night.

Creighton (2-0) scored the first 10 points and never trailed, building a 45-27 halftime lead. Clarke Rosenberg hit a 3-pointer to pull Chicago State (0-2) within nine points, 51-42, with 14:05 remaining. Toby Hegner answered for the Bluejays, hitting a trey and making a pair of free throws to cap a 10-0 run and stretch the lead to 61-42 with 10:16 left.

Isaiah Zierden scored to give Creighton its largest lead, 79-56 with 3:35 to play. Zierden finished with 18 points and Hegner 17. Devin Brooks grabbed 10 boards and dished out six assists for the Bluejays.

Rosenberg scored 22 points on 9-of-18 shooting. Anthony Glover had 18 points, including five 3-pointers to lead Chicago State.

The Bluejays will next host No. 19 Oklahoma on Wednesday night (8 p.m. ET, live on FOX Sports 1).
