The Minnesota Gophers settled for a series split with No. 1 Notre Dame on Saturday night, dropping the finale 4-1 at Mariucci Arena.

The Irish (20-5-1, 14-2-0) took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission after Maple Grove, Minn., native Jordan Gross beat Gophers goaltender Mat Robson on the power play.

After Notre Dame tallied another goal in the second period, Gophers forward Brannon McManus put Minnesota on the board with a beautiful finish on a breakaway.

Notre Dame scored the final two goals of the night, finishing 3 of 6 on the man advantage while the Gophers went 0 for 3.

Minnesota's loss snapped a three-game winning streak, while Notre Dame won its first game in three tries. The Irish set a program record earlier in the year when they won 16 straight games from Oct. 27 to Jan. 19.
