Baltimore Ravens score big with Jeremy Maclin addition
This late in the free agency game big names are hard to find, but the Baltimore Ravens have done just that by signing wide receiver Jeremy Maclin
At the beginning of the month, the Kansas City Chiefs unexpectedly cut starting wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. He didn't stay out of work long as he signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, agreeing to a two-year deal with the receiver-needy franchise according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
It was believed Maclin would make his decision Monday, as he was deciding between the Buffalo Bills and the Ravens. Both franchises need a starting receiver. But in Baltimore, Maclin will have the better passer, quarterback Joe Flacco, and coach in John Harbaugh — who have won a Super Bowl together.
An added bonus is that Maclin's former offensive coordinator from his Philadelphia days — Marty Mornhinweg is now calling the plays in Baltimore.

After five years with the Eagles, Maclin signed with the Chiefs for five years and $55 million. He went there to work with former head coach Andy Reid and was ready to end the terrible receiver play Kansas City had, which included an entire year where no wide outs caught a touchdown pass.
In two seasons Maclin had 1,624 yards and 10 touchdowns. Those numbers feel a bit skewed as most the damage was done in 2015. Last season, he missed four games and dealt with injuries in several more. For his career, the first-round pick from Missouri has 474 receptions for 6,395 yards and 46 touchdowns.
Heading to Baltimore, the 29-year old will surely line up opposite 2015 veteran signing Mike Wallace, who went over 1,000 yards in his first season with the Ravens. Maclin will help the team transition smoothly as they hope to replace the recently retired Steve Smith.
The Ravens reportedly had also shown interest in receiver Eric Decker, who the New York Jets are trying to trade. This likely takes them out of that sweepstakes.
