POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Austin Day threw for 440 yards and five touchdowns and Marist beat Davidson 48-41 in double overtime Saturday for its second straight comeback win.

Day's passing yardage set a school record and his 21 completions tied a program record. It was Marist's first overtime contest since 2016 against Morehead State.

Davidson led 27-17 at halftime before doubling up Marist near the end of the third quarter on James Story's 46-yard run touchdown. Day responded with a 68-yard touchdown pass to Juston Christian and followed with a 74-yard score to Christian. Marist's Mateo Zapata kicked a 22-yard field goal with 98 seconds left to force overtime.

In the first overtime, Wesley Dugger's 3-yard TD put the Wildcats up 41-34. Day connected again with Christian on a 25-yard score, then threw another 25-yard TD to Jon Kanda, and Marist (3-4, 3-1 Pioneer Football League) kept Davidson (5-3, 2-3) out of the endzone.
