Hoehn, Sacred Heart beats Central Connecticut State 67-50 (Feb 10, 2018)

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) Sean Hoehn scored 22 points, De'Von Barnett scored 16 and Sacred Heart defeated Central Connecticut 67-50 on Saturday.

Barnett scored three layups during an 11-0 run and Sacred Heart led 20-10. Austin Nehls responded with a layup and 3-pointer and Tyler Kohl's jump shot brought the Blue Devils within five before they trailed 29-24 at intermission.

Sacred Heart (9-18, 4-10 Northeast Conference) used an 8-0 burst to start the second half with Mario Matasovic and Hoehn buying 3s and the Pioneers led by double digits the rest of the way. Kinnon LaRose's 3 with 9:35 left pushed the lead to 53-33. LaRose finished with 16 points and six rebounds.

The Pioneers had 14 assists on 24 made shots while the Blue Devils shot 18 of 53 (34 percent) from the field, including 2 of 21 from 3-point range.

Kohl led Central Connecticut (12-15, 5-9) with 18 points on 8-of-19 shooting.
