Andre with 20 leads N. Arizona past Jacksonville 97-82

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Bernie Andre scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Northern Arizona beat Jacksonville 97-82 on Saturday.

Andre was 8 of 13 from the field for the Lumberjacks (1-0). Cameron Shelton added 15 points, four rebounds and four assists, Ted McCree had 14 points, Brooks DeBisschop had 12 points and eight rebounds and Carlos Hines chipped in 10 points.

The Lumberjacks pulled away late in the first half on a Luke Avdalovic 3-pointer followed by a DeBisschop layup and a Chris Bowling 3 to a 34-24 advantage with 3:32 left in the half. They were up 43-30 at the break.

Northern Arizona opened the second half with a flurry that included two 3-pointers by Andre and another by McCree to help stretch it to 54-38. Back-to-back 3-pointers by McCree and Hines followed as part of a 16-1 surge that took it to 70-39 with 13:50 to play and the Lumberjacks cruised from there.

Jace Hogan scored 17 points to lead the Dolphins (0-2). Jalyn Hinton grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.
