Recap of Thursday’s live chat with Rob Neyer

Another thumb injury by a head-first slide.

One month of baseball is in the books. It’s May now, and there’s a lot to talk about.

For instance, the Diamondbacks are the worst team in baseball. How about that? And the Cubs. Oh boy. The Cubs are nipping at the D-backs heels for the honor. Chicago lost Wrigley Field’s 100th birthday game in epic fashion last week and their ace pitcher Jeff Samardzija is still winless despite having the 11th best ERA by a qualified starting pitcher.

Also, Jean Segura was hit in the face by Ryan Braun’s bat, Bryce Harper had thumb surgery, and Robinson Cano was booed at Yankee Stadium.

And Rob’s been writing vigorously as always about players who have endured opening-month slumps and the surprisingly good rotations of the Braves and A’s.

See. There’s lots to chat about, so stop by at 1:30 p.m. ET or just send in your comments/questions now in the chat window below.
