Indians’ Tomlin sets mark for consistency

Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin has pitched at least five innings in

each of 29 appearances to start his career, the only major league

pitcher since 1919 to do it.

Tomlin came into Monday’s start against the New York Yankees

sharing the mark with Boston’s Daisuke Matasuzaka (2007). Tomlin

has been remarkably consistent during his brief big league


The right-hander has gone at least six innings in 15 of his

first 16 starts. In his last three starts, he’s 2-0 with a 2.70
