Yankees minor league team immortalizes Greg Bird with hatching bobblehead

When the New York Yankees called up Greg Bird last August, it didn't take long for him to become a fan favorite. At the time, he was viewed as one of the top-five prospects in the team's farm system and put together solid numbers in a short stint: 11 home runs and 31 RBIs in just 46 games.Ā
Unfortunately, he'll miss the entire 2016 season due to a shoulder injury, putting his rise to stardom on hold for one more year. He won't be on the field, but he certainly won't be forgotten.
The Yankees' Triple-A affiliate, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, are giving away hatching Greg Bird bobbleheads on June 3, something every fan will want to get their hands on. Just look at these things!

Minor league teams are known for their wild uniforms and strange mascots, but this is new -- and it's fantastic. You'll likely have to be an early bird (pun intended) to snag one of these when they're given out.
