A fan who attended the Mets-Dodgers NLDS opener on Friday was seriously wounded after the game, according to multiple Los Angeles media outlets.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the LAPD is investigating a fight in the parking lot at Dodger Stadium that occurred around 10:30 p.m. following the Dodgers' 3-1 loss to the Mets in Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday that left one fan with critical injuries.

LAPD officer Matthew Ludwig said "a verbal argument between fans escalated into the physical confrontation," according to the Times.

While the identity of the victim has not been released, a report from ABC-7 says the fight occurred between Dodgers and Mets fans, and that the victim of the attack was a Mets fan.

"Witnesses said the New York Mets fan was punched and then fell, hitting his head," the report reads.

ABC-7 reports that the victim is in "critical but stable" condition and is being hospitalized at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center.

Friday's incident comes four years after a highly publicized parking lot attack of Giants fan Brian Stow on Opening Day 2011, which left the Stow with serious brain damage.

The Times says that investigators are scanning surveillance footage from the parking lot and interviewing witnesses to try to track down those involved in the fight.
