Nats' Morse has setback, date of return uncertain

Washington Nationals slugger Michael Morse is not expected to be ready to play in the home opener on Thursday.

Manager Davey Johnson said Tuesday that Morse had to come out of a minor league rehab game and undergo further tests. Morse is on the 15-day disabled list with a back injury. Johnson said Morse, who plays left field and first base for the Nationals, is struggling with throws.

''He has no problem swinging, but unfortunately we don't have a DH,'' Johnson said. ''I was kind of looking forward to penciling him in the lineup on Thursday.''

Johnson said he had not heard an update on nominal closer Drew Storen, who had a setback in rehab from a right elbow injury and was sent to visit Dr. James Andrews.
