Mets recall Gee to start against Braves

Published Apr. 17, 2011 11:48 a.m. ET

The New York Mets have recalled Dillon Gee from Triple-A Buffalo and designated Pat Misch for assignment.

Gee is starting in Sunday's game against the Atlanta Braves.

The right-hander was 2-2 with a 2.18 ERA in five starts for the Mets in 2010. He was 1-1 with a 4.63 ERA in two starts for Buffalo this year.

The Mets needed another starting pitcher after placing right-hander Chris Young on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with right biceps tendinitis.

Misch, a left-hander, was recalled Saturday to bolster the team's bullpen for Saturday's doubleheader. He pitched two innings, giving up one run, in a 4-2 loss to the Braves in Saturday's first game.
