Houston Astros rookie Domingo Santana collected his first major-league base hit earlier this week, and he followed it up on Thursday afternoon with an impressive opposite-field home run.
Coming to the plate with Houston holding a 5-3 lead over the Colorado Rockies, Santana connected on an outside pitch and lofted it high into the thin Coors Field air for a big three-run blast to right-center field:

The 8-4 win was the Astros' fifth straight, and improved their record to 40-28. It will be interesting to see if Santana is, in fact, developing into another hot-hitting youngster to add to their already potent lineup alongside shortstop phenom Carlos Correa...
