MILWAUKEE (AP) Brewers pitcher Zach Davies has not allowed a hit through six innings against the Oakland Athletics.

Davies has allowed two walks, including one to eighth-place hitter Chris Coghlan to lead off the third. Athletics pitcher Sean Manaea popped out on a bunt attempt before Coco Crisp bounced out to second for a double play to end Oakland's best scoring chance.

Coghlan also hit a sharp liner in the sixth caught by first baseman Chris Carter.

Davies, a right-hander, has thrown 46 of his 82 pitches for strikes. He has struck out five.

The 23-year-old rookie is coming off a career-best, eight-inning outing in a 3-1 win over St. Louis on June 1, when he allowed three hits and struck out nine.

The Brewers lead 2-0.
