Matt Davidson - Signs minors deal with Arizona Davidson joined the Diamondbacks as a non-roster invitee Monday. Impact Davidson has appeared in parts of five major-league seasons but has just 47 plate appearances over the last three years, none of which came in 2021. He has decent power, but it hasn't been enough to offset a career 34.2 percent strikeout rate, as his .223/.292/.433 lifetime slash line is good for a modest 94 wRC+, a number that doesn't cut it for a corner infielder. He did look quite good for Triple-A Oklahoma City in the Dodgers' system last season, hitting .294/.365/.629 with 28 homers in 84 games, but his overall track record suggests he's likely to fill a limited role at best if he cracks the Diamondbacks' roster at any point in 2022.
