Bears' White not giving up on 2015 season, but doubt creeping in

The Chicago Bears selected West Virginia wide receiver Kevin White with the seventh-overall pick in this year's draft, hoping they would get a dynamic pass-catcher for their offense. Instead, they got a fractured shin and a 6-foot-3 receiver who has done nothing but rest on the physically unable to perform list this season.

There's still a chance that White returns to play this year, but that hope wanes with each passing week. The rookie remains optimistic his situation, according to Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune, although the signs currently point to a return in 2016.

The 2-4 Bears have been better than expected at times this season. It would have been interesting to see Chicago's offense with both White and Alshon Jeffery healthy at the wide receiver position. Those are two big bodies to line up on either side of the formation.

However, with Jeffery slated to hit free agency next spring, the Bears may never know what that one-two punch could look like.
