Quinn Priester - Might not be ready for Opening Day Priester (wrist) might not make his regular-season debut until shortly after Opening Day, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Priester has yet to pitch this spring, as he has been brought along slowly in Brewers camp after dealing with a wrist issue down the stretch in 2025. He is considered healthy, but Priester's deliberate ramp-up might result in a delayed start to the season. With early-season off days, the Brewers could avoid putting Priester on the injured list and instead simply push him back a bit.

Christian Yelich - Ready for spring debut Yelich will be in the lineup for Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact The veteran slugger will see his first game action of spring training after the Brewers ramped him up slowly at the start of camp. Yelich totaled 29 home runs, 16 steals, 103 RBI and 88 runs with a .264/.343/.452 slash line in 150 regular-season games last season and will be the lynchpin of Milwaukee's lineup again in 2026.

Brandon Lockridge - Nursing rotator cuff contusion Lockridge has been held out of Cactus League action since suffering a rotator cuff contusion Feb. 26 when he dove back into the bag, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact The good news is Lockridge avoided structural damage in the shoulder and he is expected to return to games in 3-5 days. Lockridge is off to a fantastic start this spring, going 6-for-11 with two home runs, one stolen base an a 2:1 BB:K. He's expected to open the season as a reserve outfielder for the Brewers.

Trevor Megill - Makes first spring appearance Megill tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Sunday's spring game against the Royals. He did not allow a hit, struck out a batter and walked another.
Impact It was reported last Monday that Megill received a PRP injection in his forearm at some point over the offseason, but he took the mound for the first time this spring less than a week later, and per Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel hit 98.3 mph on the radar gun. The arm issues are something to be aware of, but it's also tough to ignore the 30 saves he recorded last season and 21 the year before. Megill is in line to open the season as Milwaukee's closer, and Abner Uribe is presumably next in line should Megill need a breather or wind up unavailable.

Chad Patrick - Goes two in debut Patrick allowed one earned run over 2.0 innings in Sunday's spring game against the Royals. He gave up two hits, struck out two batters and walked two.
Impact Patrick was not particularly sharp in his spring debut, allowing four runners to reach base and throwing just 21 of his 41 pitches for strikes. Despite that, he remains firmly in the mix for a rotation spot, and he is a pitcher to keep an eye on after striking out 127 batters over 119.2 innings during the 2025 regular season and 11 more over 9.0 frames in the postseason.

Jett Williams - Managing sore quad Williams said that he hasn't appeared in a Cactus League game since Monday due to left quadriceps soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Williams noted that he sustained the injury while legging out a triple in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Padres. The 22-year-old downplayed the severity of the issue and expressed confidence that he would be back in action in the coming days. Acquired from the Mets in January, Williams is getting a chance to stake his claim to a spot on the Brewers' Opening Day roster, but he's more likely to begin the season as an everyday player at Triple-A Nashville.

Sal Frelick - Faring fine this spring Frelick is 3-for-10 (.300) with a triple, a steal and a 3:0 BB:K through four games this spring.
Impact Frelick has not been particularly busy early in the exhibition season, but he also has not been limited after playing through a sore knee in 2025. He is set to remain Milwaukee's primary right fielder, and he figures to be a fantasy factor after putting up a .288 batting average, 12 home runs and 19 steals over 590 plate appearances a season ago.

Brewers keep showing small‑market savvy can match big budgets The Milwaukee Brewers consistently defy expectations, winning the NL Central despite a low payroll and trading away star players.

Joey Ortiz - Off to fast start Ortiz went 7-for-14 (.500) with a double, two RBI, two steals and a 2:3 BB:K over his last five spring games.
Impact Ortiz posted a 1.145 OPS during the 2025 exhibition campaign before putting up a .593 mark during the regular season, so the early hot streak is not necessarily a sign of things to come. However, it is certainly better than the alternative for a player looking to get back on track. Despite the downturn Ortiz is in line to remain the primary shortstop for the Brewers, but Milwaukee's top four prospects all play the same position, so it will be a pivotal 2026 campaign for Ortiz.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Andrew Vaughn - Amassing hits and walks Vaughn is 6-for-14 (.429) with a home run, three RBI and a 3:1 BB:K through five games this spring.
Impact The homer is Vaughn's lone extra-base hit to date, but he is both getting hits and reaching base with regularity -- something he did far more often after joining the Brewers than in his four-plus seasons with the White Sox. There is reason to be skeptical of Vaughn given that he has appeared in just 64 games for Milwaukee, but the Brewers seem convinced, and he is slated to open the season as the team's primary first baseman.

Brandon Sproat - Debuts with Brewers Sproat allowed one earned run over 1.1 innings in Friday's spring game against the White Sox. He gave up three hits, struck out three batters and walked one.
Impact Sproat made his first start since being acquired from the Mets and tossed 35 pitches. He is in the mix for a spot at the back end of Milwaukee's rotation, though it may be a bit until roles are sorted out.

Aaron Ashby - Makes spring debut Ashby tossed two scoreless innings in Thursday's spring game. He allowed three hits, walked one batter and struck out none.
Impact Ashby was not particularly sharp in his spring debut, but he was able to keep the opponent off the scoreboard. He started Thursday's contest and -- per MLB.com -- has not officially been ruled out of the rotation mix, but he started only three games over the last two seasons, so he will likely remain in the bullpen. If he does make any starts during the regular season it will likely be as an opener -- something he did three times last postseason.
4 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Tyler Black - Sizzling early this spring Black is 8-for-12 (.667) with a home run, two doubles, a triple, eight RBI, three steals and a 1:2 BB:K through four games this spring.
Impact Black has been on an absolute heater to open the exhibition season, both at the plate and on the basepaths. Once a top prospect, Black faded a bit in recent years, but he is still only 25 years old and is not out of the picture yet. Black remains without a defensive position, and Christian Yelich is slated to be the primary designated hitter for the Brewers, but if he stays hot he could just force Milwaukee to get creative.
