With Rawls nursing injury, Seahawks sign Bryce Brown for RB depth
With reserve running back Thomas Rawls dealing with a calf injury, the Seattle Seahawks signed running back Bryce Brown on Tuesday.
Rawls, who had a pair of 100-yard games this season while subbing for an injured Marshawn Lynch, was hurt in last week's loss at San Francisco. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll on Monday said Rawls had a calf contusion and hoped he'd be back at practice by Thursday.
Brown was released by the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 15 after he was inactive for the season opener. He joins former Bills teammate Fred Jackson in Seattle's backfield.
The Seahawks released wide receiver B.J. Daniels to clear a roster spot for Brown, who appeared in 39 games with Buffalo and the Philadelphia Eagles over the previous three seasons.
A converted quarterback, Daniels appeared in four games this season and had one reception for 12 years.
