WR/PR Travis Benjamin bolts Browns for Chargers

The San Diego Chargers and free-agent wide receiver Travis Benjamin have agreed to terms on a four-year deal.

Benjamin was drafted in the fourth round in 2012 by the Cleveland Browns and came into his own last season, starting 15 games and finishing with 68 catches for 966 yards and five TDs.

Benjamin, one of the Browns' only deep threats and playmakers, also excelled as a punt returner, ranking third in the league at 11.6 yards per return last season.

It was a tough start to free agency for the Browns, who surprisingly hung on to Johnny Manziel but watched three-time Pro Bowl center Alex Mack, dependable right tackle Mitchell Schwartz and former Pro Bowl safety Tashaun Gipson leave along with Benjamin.
