The hand injury that Jason Pierre-Paul reportedly suffered on the 4th of July is not expected to put his career in jeopardy.

While early indications have been that Pierre-Paul mangled his hand pretty badly in a fireworks accident, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the New York Giants defensive end was still meeting with doctors but that the injury is “not career-threatening.”

That’s certainly good news for Pierre-Paul and the Giants, though we still have no idea if he is facing a lengthy recovery period or not.

As we noted before, it appears Pierre-Paul had a U-Haul fan loaded up with fireworks before the incident took place. Here’s hoping he was fortunate enough to avoid a serious injury.
