Report: Bears QB Jay Cutler showing no drop-off in arm strength at 32

Published Jun. 1, 2015 10:44 a.m. ET

Even though Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler has taken a ton of punishment and had one of his sloppiest years as a professional last season, some of his elite capability still shines through to those who study his game. ESPN's Jeff Dickerson notes that, despite being sacked 205 times over the last six years, Cutler "can still sling it."

Dickerson cited a deep ball Cutler threw perfectly over Alshon Jeffery's shoulder at OTAs as evidence of Cutler's arm strength.

All those extra hits add up to injuries, and Cutler's had more than a few. He has missed 12 games since becoming the Bears starting quarterback in 2009. Dickerson mentioned Cutler's past knee, thumb groin and ankle injuries in the report.

Cutler turned 32 in April, as the 2006 first-round pick (11th overall) may be entering the final stage of his NFL career.
