Steelers' Heyward: Loss to Ravens left 'sour taste'
The Pittsburgh Steelers were a different team back in Week 4 when they lost at home to the Baltimore Ravens, but it was still a bitter pill to swallow for defensive end Cameron Heyward.
Mike Vick was the quarterback, making his first start a week after Ben Roethlisberger suffered a knee injury in St. Louis. Martavis Bryant was suspended, and perhaps even more importantly, Josh Scobee was the kicker.
The Ravens are a lot more worse off than they were in October, but Heyward told Steelers.com that he expects this Sunday's rematch with Baltimore to be hard fought just because of the rivalry between the two teams.
The Steelers took control of their own postseason destiny with a comeback win over Denver last week. They still have an outside chance at winning the division, but a loss to the Ravens could jeopardize a chance at the playoffs all together. Baltimore would love nothing more than to spoil Pittsburgh's chances.
"We lost to Baltimore the last time we played them. There shouldn’t be a letup. Everybody knows we are going against Baltimore. Any time it’s the Ravens it’s a tough game. We didn’t have our quarterback, we had some guys injured. It left a sour taste in our mouth so we want to improve on that."
"We understand if we want to get to where we want to get to, we have to win these games. We are going to go to Baltimore, in a hostile place, and their main focus is going to be to upset us. We have to focus on the task at hand. "
