NFL scouts: Eagles' Bradford and Sanchez are the same guy

Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Mark Sanchez is expected to draw the start in Week 11 for Sam Bradford (concussion), and according to several anonymous NFL scouts, the Eagles are no worse off.

"There's no drop-off,'' the first anonymous scout said to Mark Eckel of NJ Advanced Media. "They're very similar. They're the same guy, basically.

"Actually, Sanchez is the better athlete of the two. He can move better. He's not what you call a runner, but he gives you a threat to run in that offense. He can run. Defenses know Bradford isn't going to run.

"(Sanchez's) problem has been the turnover. He gets brain cramps at the worst times. That's what cost him in New York (with the Jets). It's the only reason he's a backup and not a starter.''

Sanchez had 15 total touchdowns in nine games with the Eagles in 2014, including a rushing touchdown, but he also committed 14 total turnovers. The other anonymous scout actually thinks Sanchez looks better, but his tendency to turn the ball over evens the battle out.

"I told you at the beginning of the season there's not much of a difference,'' the second scout said. "It doesn't matter -- Bradford, Sanchez, Foles ... they're all the same. It's not like Dallas losing (Tony) Romo and having to go to (Brandon) Weeden.

"Sanchez looks better in their offense. But the thing is he has to stay away from the mistake. That's bothered him his whole career.''

Bradford did not practice with the team on Tuesday. All signs point to Sanchez making his first start of the 2015 season in Week 11.
