Thawing in the rivalry? Eagles fans show some support for Romo

Maybe the Philadelphia Eagles fans are getting a bad rap after all.

The same fans who infamously once pelted Santa Claus with snowballs in 1968 showed a measure of respect to the Eagles' most bitter rival on Sunday.

When Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo walked off the field with what turned out to be a fractured collarbone, Philadelphia fans in the end zone stood and cheered in an appreciative gesture.

That may not be a big deal in some rivalries, but given that Philly fans applauded when former Cowboys wideout Michael Irvin lay motionless on the turf after suffering a career-ending injury, it definitely qualifies as a minor thaw in fan relations.
